    Mick Yates

    Mick Yates is the founder of LeaderValues. He is currently leading Global Business Development at dunnhumby, a company which partners major Retailers and Manufacturers to take customer-focused business decisions.

    Mick was also recently appointed Visiting Professor, the University of Leeds, Business School, where he is focused on Leadership Development and Innovation.

    Mick is a globally experienced senior executive, having spent almost 30 years working in Europe, the USA and across Asia Pacific.  He has held multinational General Management positions since 1985. Until mid 2001, Mick was Company Group Chairman of Johnson & Johnson ’s Consumer business in Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore. He was a J&J Corporate Officer and a member of the Global Operating Committee.  Mick was responsible for all aspects of the Asia Pacific operation (Sales, R&D, Marketing, HR, IT, Finance, Manufacturing etc.).

    Prior to this, Mick spent 22 years at Procter & Gamble, latterly as Regional Vice President based in Hong Kong and then in Japan. In all, he spent 11 years as a Regional CEO of Asian businesses.

    In the non-profit arena, Mick was a member of the Board of Trustees of Save the Children (USA) and a member of the Board of Save the Children Korea. He was also a Chief Advisor to the Save the Children International Alliance.

    End 1999, the Yates family started a Cambodian school development program, in a remote ex-Khmer Rouge “reconciliation area”.  This reflects a belief in education to help the underprivileged children of this war-ravaged country. Details can be found on yatesweb at Cambodia.

    Linkage Best Practice in Leadership DevelopmentMost recently Mick wrote the chapter entitled "Developing Leaders in a Global Landscape" in Linkage Inc's "Best Practices in Leadership Development Handbook", edited by David Giber and published by Pfeiffer (April 2009). ISBN 978-0470195673.

    A graduate of the University of Leeds, in 2004 Mick completed the "Consulting and Coaching for Change" 12 month program jointly at Oxford University and HEC (Paris). He subsequently finished a Masters Degree at HEC based on the 4E's Leadership Framework.

    Change LeadersMick is a member of  the Change Leaders, a global community of practice dedicated to helping organizations positively address the human side of change, created by the participants in the 2004 "Consulting and Coaching for Change" program.

    Finally, Mick is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and is married with six children, born in five countries, on three continents.
